The management practices and behavior of a school administrators is one tried and tested way of knowing their influence in the school culture. Their effectiveness has direct effect to the teachers and pupils in the school they are leading in terms of instructional medium and the achievement of the pupils, teachers and the school in its entirety.  The leadership skills, management styles are the variables that dictate what will happen to the school culture.  One particular area that a school principal should focus into is Communication and Interaction with the people in the school.  He should be more alert in learning and applying the skills in dealing with people around him.  He must possess the secret to understand human nature and then act accordingly.   How then a school principals acquire these effective and efficient management styles and skills?  One given trait is his/her personality.  Deep in the heart of school administrators  is the desire to be considered as a unique creation.  Their most intense longing is for the teachers and pupils to see them as paersons with a striking personality and a very revered human dignity.   They want their subordinates to see and feel this.  They want them to recognize it,   If a school principal already possessed this trait, this must remain nurtured.  It should be always lighted.  If it remains unlighted, others may trample it.  His/her subordinates may remained uninspired, the pupils and teachers will be underachievers, so school principals must be always on the alert, so that the school can be dubbed as the ‘school with a positive culture”, or the “school of achievers”.  This is precisely the reason, why the principal cannot disregard his teachers, other staff, personnel and pupils and get away with it.  Nothing and no one should deprive people of self-woth or self-esteem. Every person is important.  Every teacher is important. Every pupil is important.  Anybody who realizes that he/she has something deep within him that he can contribute and it can be counted will develop self-esteem.  Therefore, the school principal must learn how important it is to get along with others successfully.  In order to lead, the school principal must have to accept and approve of himself first. Only then that his understanding and appreciation  of his people will make him accept and approve others.

When a school has  men with high self-esteem, the culture of the school will be more cheerful more tolerant and more willing to others.  As a school principal, who says that people are difficult to handle?  They are not- if they are satisfied with the management practices and styles and leadership that you give to them.   As Harold J. Seymour puts it: “When the leadership is right and the time is right, the people can always be counted upon to follow-to the end at al costs.”
