With the rapid changes to our generation, youth is now more demanding in acquiring technologies that will suit their needs especially their studies. Certainly the access in internet or in the World Wide Web is easy and there are many benefits can be gained. The use of this accessibility is applied mostly on the professionals such as medical practitioners, business tycoons, and even government officials. The purpose of this usage the Internet is different in terms of their needs and various marketers also applied their expertise on it. Apparently the growing numbers of users are members of different social networking sites and most of them are students.

Social networking such as Facebook, one of the largest social networking sites, Twitter, Google and many others has been plagued the websites of the internet accessibility. Many individuals, mostly students and their friends are engaged in social networking.

Social networks are made to entertain and to interact with the other people even if they are far away. Due to the nonstop change in cultural and social aspect and with the accordance of technological revolution, the social networking’s real meaning in the face of the internet and web is still in question.

Now, ask every student and they will definitely tell you that they had an account ranges from 1 to 3 in different social networking sites. With this fact, the networking sites is a subject for scrutiny because they can contribute of influence the individuals especially children.  And they are unconscious that these social networking can gradually affect their studies that will reflect on their grades.

The fusion of study and internet sites opened the doors for positive and negative results. Almost 80% of the students said that the use of social networking sites such as Facebook does not affect their grades. This idea brought out the issues about the study habits of the students.

The effect of social networking on the students’ study habits results in different ranges. Many studies show different results about the students who use social networking. There are instances that the student who uses Facebook often has consistently lower grades, in which on the other studies result is different.

The higher-education officials and social networking experts said that there is a long-term research about the determination on the social networking sites on academics of the students and on their grades. There is a majority numbers among the student’s population who uses social networking sites received grades according to their performance. The academic performanceof the students is different from other that suggests to the idea that there is, somehow, an impact of social networking over the academics and their study habits.

Social networking offers many benefits. It is now easier than ever to keep in contact with old friends and colleagues. But as a student he must sure that the use of social network won’t affect his study habits resulting in failing of his grade, on the other hand he can use the social network in a positive way. The parents should be responsible in guiding their children at home in their studies and make sure that the social network that their children use can help to widen their knowledge especially in terms of studying.
