Flex the muscles. Flex some more. Train the minds and you cannot ask for more. In principle, it is applicable to the important role which sports plays in the education curriculum.
Instilling interests in sports in the minds of the youth learners makes up the balance between empirical understanding and physical fitness attributes needed by individual student to be able to appreciate the value of education.
It goes to say that a sound mind will not be complete without a fit body in the pursuit of academic excellence. In both ways, the purpose of producing well-rounded individuals in school is a social responsibility of educators to provide the learners. The rudimentary approaches between the academics and sports may be different, but it is to be taken that they are complementary in the integral educational process.
The early years of students are focused on the learning basics inside the classroom. As supplement, sports serve to them the needed outlet they need as they participate and have fun that sports activity offers. Even the simple exercises therein can energize them from the whole day of reading and writing inside their classes. With this in mind, participation in sports is to be considered as an important factor to make them more productive and creative individuals.
With the coming of information technology, it is perceived that the endeavors of the academic studies can be facilitated. Many will have to agree that the facet of the vast sources of knowledge has been made available with the use of internet. Unfortunately, it has been the recent subject of investigation and study in the United States that not all the information we can get from the global internet network is true. Needless to say, the mental faculty in absorbing information can be better gained with the help of the existential experience which can be derived while from sports. The agile body is needed to have an agile mind in discerning the truth between the authentic and the bogus.
Education is a culture of both the mind and the body.
