Teachers face numerous challenges during his teaching profession, but one of the most difficult is to motivate uninterested pupils. Those who can easily bored, disrupts his classmates, refuse to complete projects and do not cooperate in group activities. If pupils display these negative attitudes to school, these could be due to variety of factors. Thus, teachers should figure out the reasons of these behaviors as initial way to help those pupils. However, there are methods to attempts a counter act on those traits but these could be effective only with patience, lot of perseverance and inspiring pupils to become more motivated. Make uninterested pupils feel welcome by creating safe and stimulating atmosphere that focuses on effort instead of achievement. Encourage them to participate in class activities and let them feel that classroom is an interesting place and giving wrong answer is just okay. Just provide opportunities to reflect and correct their wrong answers.Establish a rapport with those pupils. Good teachers always make pupils feel comfortable and confident to create positive environment. Ask their goals and future plans. Teachers could share their experiences and mistakes encountered and how they deal with those mistakes. Avoid criticism, instead increase pupils’ self-esteem by appreciating their good deeds and good performance. When they feel in experience of inner accomplishment and satisfaction, they are more likely to become motivated. Be enthusiastic and maintain high level of energy. Provide them with positive challenges and new creative and varied activities using audio visual materials that make lessons enjoyable, lively and easy to understand.
