What is the current trend among teachers as to the teaching effectiveness in the pedagogies of education along with the field of social studies? The teacher has the main responsibility of putting the best legs of efforts for the students to achieve their highest potentials in the development of their career path. As these students are tracked down towards quality education, the teachers have to lay down all their efforts to reach the eminence of educational support for the students.
One way of doing this is through the reiteration of the strategies in teaching social responsibility among high school students. Social Studies is one of the best assets of education in the current curriculum as this stresses more the development of the community from the mirror of the part, as well as the present and futuristic events which happened, may happen happening and will happen. “Social Studies has influenced many minds as to assets what the subject possesses in terms of confronting and attempting to solve the problems of man in his different environmental setting of the world over. It has become an accepted fact in many quarters that Social Studies emerged in the schools’ curricula with the aim of reforming education for the purpose of sensitizing humanity to the needs and resources of the world. It is regarded as a major tool for national development and is deemed as capable of presenting a total solution to education problems confronting many countries of the world.” The current curriculum of today in the Philippines, as deemed as K to 12 highlights more than just the development of the curriculum on the field of Social Studies, rather more than this quality in the edge of the educational setting is the plain fortification of the plan among the needs of the students towards the path on community service and social responsibilities as one of the major pedagogies in Social Studies.
This social responsibility among students must be reiterated among students since “Social Studies are a key tool in this changing world. It serves as the foundation of social development across the country. It acts as an agent of change which transforms an individual to be an effective citizen of the country. Moreover, according to K+12 Enhanced Basic Education Curriculum, Social Studies will develop the learners’ literate and effective participation as a citizen of the country.”
The social responsibility included on the current curriculum as one of the major agents in modifying the community, the society when directed to the right path.”
