People crave for information in order to answer questions and solve problem. Engineers need about materials; teachers need information to plan their lesson, doctors need information about diseases; businessmen need information about costs; farmers need information about the weather and everyone needs information in quests for knowledge.
Because of the advance technology, man has become dependent. In school, majority of the students relies on computers. Assignments, report, projects are no longer a problem. With the access in the internet the answers are already available. Books and other reading materials are kept in the bookshelves dusty and untouchable.
Really, technology makes students’ life easy. But instead of taking this chance as an avenue for learning they tend to go out of context. The irresistible lure of computer games entices them to play even during class hours. Facebook status never failed to update. But the responsibility of making assignments seems to be a burden. Studying is not a priority. We could not give the blame to technology but to students not all the time the elders are around to guide them in their pursuits.
As a teacher, our responsibility is to extend guidance and assistance to the learners.
