Student habitual tardiness is rooted from the different causes and factors. Those causes and factors are having great impact in their class standing or performance. Some of the causes of habitual tardiness are: personal-related causes like; health problem, playing video games/internet, no interest in attending classes, late sleep (midnight sleep): family-related causes like; household chores, financial problem / lack of transportation allowance, nursing younger brother / sister or other family member/s: school-related causes like; classroom not conducive to learning, uninterested subject matter, distance of home in school, bully classmate/s, beast mode teacher; and peer-related causes like; classmate/peer influence of not attending classes, committing vices like hanging-out with friends, dating with girlfriend/boyfriend.

The habitual tardiness is one among the major problems of school nowadays. Giving enough attention to those causes or factors will help the students to avoid sluggishness in coming to school and it may help the parents or guardians, and the school authorities to understand why those students are always tardy. Having this kind of problem, careful studies and analysis for those students who have habitual tardiness is needed. If not the family was the main cause of it, it could be personal wherein the student/s will established it until it formed into habit.

As teacher of those kind of students better to take into account the parent-teacher conference and the chance to talk to students personally for in every step or action we do can be the best move to at least minimize the problem of tardiness and truancy in school.
