An anonymous writer once wrote, “A good leader is like a candle which consumes itself to light the way for others.”

We are aware that teachers have different roles in Philippine society. They actively and untiringly participate in commonly activities like devoting time in churches, performing indispensable roles during election that requires leadership.

Definitely, they hate wasting time on doing trivial things. Teachers are capable of doing many things. They are not just teachers but disciplinarian as well. In most cases, being a teacher requires a lot of patience in dealing with various types of students. However, no matter how hard the situation is, teachers manage to take the situation in control and remember that they should be role models.

A good leader understands his follower. Likewise, teachers must take into account the story behind their every student. That is where they can derive explanations on the students’ character and behavior. A leader not just commands but also considers the needs of his follower. As teachers, they are bound to do the same thing.

Teachers set the path that students need to take, thus they should not make any of their students take the unwanted path.
