Teachers are said to be the nation builders. Perhaps many of us know that teachers are one of the major makers of professionals for so many years. The only profession that creates professionals. One of the worst paid but rewarded with many vocations. They are among the hardest working professionals that play several roles but conceive as one entity.
To name a few of their roles, teachers are to become psychologist/counsellor. They need to consider the behaviour of their students, the stage of development as well as other factors such as gender, cultural background, and family and community circumstances that they need to manage. Because a true teacher who just teaches academic lessons to students but is like a guide who helps students in every sphere of life by giving the right advice.
An artist, teachers are individuals who need to select a unique and effective tools and methods of teachings. They need to prepare something that might caught the interest of their students. Like an artist, teachers do experiments perfecting their own peculiar style as persistently as possible.
They also become social justice, by imparting quality education to all students regardless of their status in the society, sex, religion, and race. Teachers offer quality education and equal treatment to each students to become physically and mentally fit, emotionally balanced and spiritually sound.
Teachers are also Mathematician and scientists. They do problem solving, test experiments and conceptualize theories that might students find exciting and challenging and become the future’s new version of Albert Einstein and Pythagoras.
Today, we are living in a fast-paced time. Even the mode and system of education changes as innovation proceeds. That’s why teachers also need to cope up with this changes and be computer literate. A teacher can never truly teach unless he/she is still learning himself/herself, like a lamp it can never light another lamp unless it continues to burn its own flame. They should never stop learning.
Educators are writers in nature. With all the paper works, lesson plans and reports that they do every day, I think that’s the most obvious evidence that they truly are. And some of them are journalist, coaching students who have the potential to become one. Imagine how talented they are.
And to cut down the rope, the most important of them all, is they serve as a MODEL. Not literally as it can be, but they indeed inspire others. Teachers a yardstick that measure the achievements and aspirations of the nation since they are the dynamic force of the school. A school without a teacher is like a body without a soul. Most of the time, they come down their level just to reach students. And these are only some of the sacrifices of an educators not just time but also his/her body and soul, because that’s what really means to become a true educator. You must live your profession by heart. So, with all of these we need to give them the highest respect they deserve for they are one of the treasures of our nation.
