Teacher plays an important role in the life of every student and we call the mentor as the” second parent”. To become a second parent to students entails great responsibility and it is not a simple task because you deal with big group of people with individual differences. Helping them to learn is not the only goal we need to accomplish but also help them become good and productive individuals so that they will be fully equipped with everything they need in the future as they face new struggles in life. Being the teacher, we spent eight hours a day with them and 160 hours in a month and each students needs attention at different time and at different level. Students who are loaded with so many problems at home tend to become lazy in school and eventually will result to poor academic performance .In this kind of situation, the presence and guidance of a second parent is highly recommended. Teachers daily observe the students performance in school and can easily evaluate or assess the factors that caused the said problem  and they are more knowledgeable than parents when it comes to motivating the students. It is  still best of course for the teacher to work hand in hand with the parents especially when the problem gets complicated.
