It is said that Jack of all trades is a person who can do several kinds of work fairly well. Likewise, a teacher is called to have one profession yet does multiple of tasks at the same time.
Many think that being a teacher is like eating nuts; teach in school, go home then have another day to do similar work. However, the real scenario is quite different with what they think especially if the teacher has her own family to serve.
Waking up before the crack of dawn is very challenging because the first duty of the teacher is to prepare the needs of her husband and children. Sometimes, though the family is her priority, you can see her waking up early preparing materials that she will use to motivate her students to be interested on their lesson.
At school, the teacher’s role is not only to teach. There are so much duty for the teacher to accomplish. She is a mother to her 50 students, identifying the differences and appreciating them in a way that they will not be offended. She is a counselor, hoping to win every child’s heart. The teacher is also a manager, thinking widely on how to organize the classroom that will benefit everyone especially her clientele, her students.
Henry Adams has said that a teacher affects eternity and that no one can never tell where the teacher’s influence stops. Moreover, her works as well never stops until she see her students growing and becoming full human beings. She counts her students’ success as if it is her own. She remains a Jack of all trades till her students become masters.
