The lockdown caused by the Covid 19 pandemic curtailed man’s freedom and tested the faith of believers and non-believers alike. The hardships and difficulties strengthened the faith of many and it also bolstered the mind set of non-believers that the pandemic proves the non-existence of God.
Faith in God do exist in the hearts of teachers. They have faith that their students will learn and will become who they wish to be in the future. It is in this faith that teachers ascribed and cling to this time of pandemic. Teachers could be a mother, a father, a sister or a brother, an aunt or an uncle, but he or she will always be first and foremost, a teacher to many. Teachers also have family to attend to and care for, but he will not deny the fact that he still have another family of learners to care for.
Teachers can not help but feel compassionate to students who are in need of special care and attention, be it regarding learning disability or family problem. Teachers knew that learning while under motivation results in longer memory retention to eventual deeper understanding of the subject.
Teaching is transferring knowledge to learners, based on the curriculum, but it doesn’t stop on the technical side of the lesson, teachers guide and motivate learners to bring out the best in them. Teachers go way beyond their job, and this pandemic, teachers bring out the best in themselves.
Teachers thrive despite the difficulties brought about by pandemic due to the moral call and obligation of performing their duties. It is by faith that they accomplish and it is by God’s providence that makes it happen.
The Covid 19 pandemic of 2020 will have a lasting impact in the next generation to come particularly among the youth that were subjected to the new learning methods, but the faith of teachers in God will not waver and thru God’s providence, teachers will, shall always prevail.
