Teacher is defined in Webster as “one whose occupation is to instruct.”  Teachers teach the children how to read, how to write, how to count and how to compute. Teachers develop the every pupil’s intellectual abilities. Teachers develop their skills, knowledge, and values needed to become caring, self-reliant, productive, and patriotic citizens.

In a real world, teacher does not only instruct, impart knowledge, develop reading and writing abilities of the children, improve their intellectual ability and the whole personality of the child…emotionally and spiritually, but they are like second parents in the school.

They became nanny, yaya and helpers in taking care of their pupils. They show their concerns, love and care for every child to feel loved and to feel at home in the classrooms while away from their parents. They looked after the children of others. They even protect them from danger.

In simple word, teachers are surrogate mothers. They are like real parents…mother and father to their pupils. They teach with TLC- tender, loving care. They are not only concern with the intellectual aspect of their pupils but at the total development of the whole personality of their every pupil.

So if we are to define a teacher in the real world where they are…teachers are surrogate mothers!
