Teachers are by nature leaders. They can adjust to any situations. They successfully carried out any task that they do. In several years of my teaching experience, almost all the task that teachers are assigned to, they obliged and carried out them carefully and successfully. It is part of their duties and obligations. As a teacher, one must be ready in every task that he/she will do.
According to Montgomery, a writer, Leadership is the capacity and will to rally men and women to a common purpose and having the character which inspires confidence. And this is very evident to teachers. A teacher knows how to provide motivation measures to maximize students and co-teachers’ performance. As a good leader he/she knows how to follow and enforce school policies and regulations. As a true follower, a teacher plans activities with clear direction and dynamicity.
Most of the time, teachers coordinates all school activities to make them contributory to the school objectives. A teacher as a sign of being a potential leader, influences group members and co-teachers by serving as a positive model.
A teacher is also very willing to mentor or to point out the fact of a situation to co-teachers in order to prompt the fellow workers to act and c9ollaborate.
A potential leader encourages teamwork and cooperation, which is very evident to many teachers. At the same time, a potential leader encourages co-teachers to be committed to their tasks and deliver quality instruction with greater learning effective4ness.
As a reminder from Dwight D. Eisenhower, let us put in our minds that Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it.
