The year 2000 is the opening of the modern inventions of computers where such machines spread all over the world and the end of innocence.  The time people gradually embraced changes on the system of living and the last frame of superstitious belief. Humans become dependent on technology. This period is the launch of liberation and some people become agnostic. Kids and teenagers love to play computer games and different applications on their cellular phones, instead of spending time playing “Laro ng Lahi” like patintero, piko, sipa, palosebo, and luksong tinik.  As a result of using devices, they become weak because of lack of exercise.  On the other canto, they tend to be violent due to fighting scenes and crimes they are encountering on the monitor, which sometimes applied in real life situation by some teenagers.

Do you still remember your teacher posting visual aids covering almost all parts of the board? Have you seen your professor totaling your grades using calculator? What do you feel when your teacher is writing your grades and your classmates on a long white paper like a cartolina at the end of the school year? You are probably wondering why they need to do those things manually. On this stage of life, professionals also adapt on technological advancement like in the field of teaching. From being a walking calculator, now computer oriented teachers in finding the verdict for learners. For a long time, mentors are using colorful papers and dirty ink to present the topic every day, but due to the exposure on the programs like MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Power point, they can now show their expertise with lots of confidence and ease. Furthermore, educators are also involve in the different discussions in social media through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Google where they can express their point of views, sentiments, and feelings like birds flying up in the air.  Through technology, teaching and learning process is not as boring as before because of video presentation and film showing, transfer of knowledge is very fast, activities for diverse learners are possible on the web, and most of all effective teaching strategies are available.

The technological advancement brought by the computer is becoming indispensable to some. A teacher quoted on a post, “My laptop helps me in doing my lesson plans, evaluations, grades, and presentations for my Graduate Studies.  It facilitates my job.  It makes my work lighter. I even enjoy playing games and using different applications I have downloaded.” On the other social networking sites, most teachers are bannering pictures of them using different apps on their android cellular phones. Some are once addicted of the Vietnamese creation Flappy Bird. Ahead of that are Plants Versus Zombies, Defense of the Ancient, Counter Strike, and now Cash of Clans. These acts show that teachers really adapt the age of innovations. That somehow they are afraid of engaging into, but eventually take control of their daily life chores. Teachers/mentors/educators are now facing dose of their own medicine because dilemma of dependency on technology. Some can’t work without one of his gadgets and some wasn’t able to finish his task in a short period of time without using device or machine.  Will it be possible to teach without computer in the succeeding years? How will you overcome struggles on technological dependency?
