Bullying is the most common conflict encountered by pupils in school. There are six types of bullying. The first one is Physical Bullying which involves hitting, shoving, pushing, tripping and other kinds of force. Second is Verbal Bullying which involves hurtful comments, name-calling and teasing. Next is Social Bullying which involves excluding or ostracizing someone from a friend group, spreading rumors or even the silent treatment. The fourth one is Sexual Harassment which includes sexually explicit comments or jokes, unwanted touching and sexual name calling. Next is Extortion which demands for money, food, or other material possessions. The last but not the least is Cyber Bullying which uses social media like Facebook and Twitter to harass and embarrass another person.

There are pupils who are not aware that they are being bullied or they are the one who is bullying. They just thought sometimes that it is how people engaged with each other or it is just normal. This is the main reason why children must have an early awareness about bullying to protect them from it or for them to prevent the actions that may result to bully other people.

Bullying is something that should never be taken lightly especially the teachers. Teachers must be the one to be responsible for the children to be aware about bullying. At the very beginning they must help the students to be knowledgeable about it. Teacher is one of the key for making sure that bullying will not happen. They must be sensitive enough to know that there is a bullying and they must not assume that because it has not been addressed it isn’t happening. Starting as young as possible, educate the children about bullying; about what they should look out for and what to do if they are bullied. Remember that children alone will not be able to prevent bullying from happening. So teachers if children will have an early awareness about bullying, you can stop it for good. You as a teacher will have the power to keep kids safe because bullying should never be a part of anyone’s childhood.
