“Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish; feed him for a lifetime.”

This ideology portrays education and teaching a lifelong commitment. For centuries, students were nurtured by information and taught to memorize facts, in the hope they would retain a portion of what was taught. It isn’t enough just to feed information to students since our world is altering so wild that fresh information becomes accessible faster than it can be communicated. Knowledge will not break at graduation if a state desires to keep bound with this ever-changing world. Students as well as educators must learn to be “thirsty” for wisdom and desires “how to fish” for knowledge by making themselves lifelong learners.

Education is an ever-changing part of society. Teachers can develop life-long learners by comprehending and acknowledging that life long-learning is essential; by teaching with passion and learning to keep up pace with changes aiding ourselves  with personal and professional growth; and specially inspiring young minds to foresee hunger for learning as somewhat magnificent. A classroom instructor is confronted with first-hand encounters and challenges that have never been discussed nor dealt with before. Every single student has assets and weaknesses that surface in the classroom setting since they bear aside from their books different life stories. Teachers must commit in comprehending and understanding each student’s strengths and exert a great way to improve faintness through utilizing those traits. The classroom must be a harmless area that escalates student’s viewpoints and permits room for mistakes and inaccuracies, subsequently students learn in a range of habits. Once topics in the classroom are associated to “real-life” proficiencies, the information is more likely to be retained. Students acquire knowledge from one another through the ideas and perspectives that each scholar conveys to the four corners of the room can bring awareness hooked on what is being learned. Students have to be permitted to discover new notions, attempt to see if they will work well and link sometimes to failure since they will learn from it. And with that matter, students are encouraged to explore, they begin the course of becoming lifelong learners.

As someone who intensely believes teaching is a commitment to life-long learning, I continuously seek prospects and breaks to extend my knowledge. I work with new teachers and take myself straight in the heart of this life-long learning genuineness; I must express this philosophical mind-set and demonstrate the implications of committing ourselves to this endless learning. New teachers are astounded with the realities of teaching like the day-to-day duties are typically a surprise; dealing with your students’ behaviour and enthusiasm, doing the lesson plans, attending meetings, studying assessment statistics, keeping the records and more all-too-often.  The outcome is frequently a story of survival as a remedy, joining workshops and seminars can be an opportunity to progress and participate with others who are eager about the content they are teaching. These proceedings take us back to our core and remind us the reason of taking this profession. Noble teaching receipts work and commitment and our collaboration with academic endeavours is one way to exhibit our commitment. Being a good teacher is only through becoming and then remaining to be that kind of person that you have been able to show a significant portion in the growth of many students throughout your teaching days as you have assisted them to understand their own competences and developed talents. Instilling in students an attention in their subjects and promotes their understanding of the value of education as a whole is a big deal. You’ve helped empower them to understand that they have significant influences to be made in the society. And you’ve headed them to instigate to contemplate about what is important and what kind of person they want to be. These are the things that will stay with your students for the rest of their lives. These are things that will, in some way, influence the person they become and the decisions that they make. Indeed, what they have learnt with you are things that they will want to teach to their own children in time. And finally, through the outcomes that you’ve achieved both inside & outside the classroom, and the relationships that you have constructed in your communities, you have made a more respected, effective and meaningful profession.

As individuals of a worldwide economy, we have to keep pace with our world. We must continue to study and then badge our knowledge and passion for learning on the succeeding generation. A fish is only a meal, yet we wanted to teach students to be thrilled about learning, excited about fishing for new information and we want to give them the tools to become life-long fishermen for knowledge.
