Nowadays a teacher must possess a great conviction and dedication rolled into one so as to mold productive citizens in the future. With the kind of students we have; various and multiple types of behavior which a mentor has to handle and manage, someone who is a “jack of all trade” must be into it.

Yes, a teacher can make and unmake a student, on his/her hand his what is ahead of the learner. A person with a big heart, a person who would not only make them learnof what is being taught but rather would understand them; every bit of their personality and individual differences and life stories. Each of us has our own struggle and so does a student. If only a teacher’s principle is to truly serve their clientele, then most likely to build a nation of integrity with best performances and contribution in the family and community.

At first glance, it would be a broad and complicated task each us carries on our shoulder, but if we put our heart into it, then a smooth and enticing way of performing our duties and obligations seems to be easy and enjoyable.

Every profession, every employee, every worker, laborer whether it be white or blue collar job, all these people and all other individual here on earth pass through the hand of a teacher. A teacher had made a President of the Republic and the same time a vagaboard on the street. Many of them succeed but there were also numbers who failed to achieve their fondest dream.

Teachers plant memorable memories on the life of a student from the most worthy things we have offered them to the most unpleasant situation they have experienced during their stay with us in the school. We create a historical events in mind and life of each learner. Unknowingly, these memories played a very crucial role on who they are today, some get inspired and move on while others choose to quit school for some valid reasons.

For a dedicated teacher who value much their contribution in the education of the youth, it’s nothing even if they are overwork, over spend on the school supplies they need to produce, overtime to attend and counsel a student who is trusting them about their stories, and overflowing with patience and love to tutor a student willing to learn.

With the K to 12 curriculum, Department of education is serious about building a nation ready to mingle in society, ready to show up and further hone their skills and talent and prepared to articulate their mind and heart as the circumstance calls for it. We, teachers are well-equipped, devoted and determined to provide the best quality education for our learners. We are to abide and live with the DepEd’s mission and vision.

As, DepEd Secretary Ricardo Gloria said, “Once in the life of student is a good teacher, let that TEACHER be You!
