The world today is the world of generation X – the world of computers, technology and other high-tech gadgets.
These days, even young kids would always know how to operate such gadgets even without being thought.
People, no matter in what economic status in life, would know how to use a computer even just by using the PISO NET in computer shops.
People, even the lowest economic status normally have cell phones – not just one, but others have two (others are even with dual sims). People from almost all walks of life have access to technology in whatever form.
How then can the Alternative Learning System Learning use this technology to their advantage as they in ALS?
How can they maximize the benefits of this technology to make their studying and working challenges in life more bearable?
The computers and the internet can be used for the various needs for research and typing, however, the learner should be able to note what to search and how to do so and what information can be as useful.
In internet cafes, there are internet operators who put someone inside the café to assist people whenever they have problems using the computer units or surfing the internet. At least just learning the art asking questions can help them a lot.
ALS learners, though it may take more resources and effort, should learn how to use the modern technology to assist them in their school work.
This is already the computer age and so in order to survive in the fast changing world, they also need to extend some more effort to learn this technology and understand how it can enable them to be more productive and more competitive.
As they finish their studies with ALS, then they will also need to excel in other skills like computer literacy and computer knowledge since this is very in-demand in most fields of work. We cannot discount the possibility that there will be more complicated gadgets and products of technology in the future which if we don’t go by the changing times, we be lagging behind and left out while others are enjoying the fruits of better work for better living.
