They say the baby is a blessing and gift from our God. As a woman, to have a baby is really good and happy feeling especially when you know you’re in the right age to have a family and have children. But nowadays, the number of early pregnancy is still increasing. This issue is considered as wide issue not only of our country but around the world. This issue is called Teenage Pregnancy or early pregnancy.
According to Young Adult Fertility and Sexuality Study 4, 1 out of 3 Filipinos from ages 15-24 had already experienced pre-marital sex (IAN ANDREA MARIE SANTOS). Many young people today are having early knowledge called Premarital Sex. This is sexual intercourse with your partner that you have not married or have not been married. We often hear the line “Ang hindi marunong maghintay ay madalas maagang nagiging nanay” to our parents, friends, neighbors, and even have their own experience but it seemed like everyone else ignores.
One of the reasons of early pregnancy is the incorrect use of technology and social media, another is the temptation which is really hard to resist especially the feelings of young generation today for they were really aggressive. Other reasons are poverty, lack of parental discipline, and the lack of adequate knowledge about it.
All of these factors have an impact on our lives. One of these is the difficulty of having responsibility resting upon them as parents of their future children at an early age. It is even more difficult when the parents are both ignorant and uneducated and have no decent work to support their children. Sometimes it ends up being the single mom because there are men who do not accountable to their responsibilities.
Being a mother is not a joke, especially if you are at a young age. You should consider first whether beneficial or harmful to you those things that you think is correct before you enter into situations that you may eventually regret for. For me, this is the key to prevent early pregnancy and having a family at a young age. If you think that parenting ends with feeding, bathing and dressing the children, you are wrong. This is only a beginning of some of the responsibilities that you must deal with as a parent to your children.
You can escape the hardships of life, to be happy for a while, and forget the problems that you have been through, but being a mother and having a family at a young age you will never be able to escape. Whatever life you choose instead to show your fear, show the courage to face it.
