In time of stress, colors can work for you. According to Tantracharya Nityananda, a yogi that visited Manila for a series of lectures, the theory isn’t new. Indian tantrics or those devoted to the science of unleashing cosmic energy in individuals have been doing it for centuries, he says.
He says that different colors faster various results. Green, for instance is a regenerative color. That’s why many hospital are painted with color green because it promotes healing.
On the other hand, orange activities one’s energies, thus, it is a popular color for yogis and other groups like the Ananda Marga who use their powers for meditation and other related activities.
But blue is probably the color, most could benefit from. The color has a calming effect. Whether one isinterested in the cosmic sciences or not. Nityananda suggests this exercises especially when one feels pressure pilling up on him. Lie down flat on your back and imagine a ray of blue light, the color of the sky on a bright day. Focus your attention on the light for five to ten minutes.
Those who have studied Nityananda claim one will immediately feel his tension dissolve. When one doesn’t have a place to lie down, an alternative would be to visualize the color blue around one’s head. While focusing on the color, breathe in and out deeply. That will help you to relax. However, the beginner may have difficulty imagining colors. To solve this, Nityananda suggest looking at a blue object first, then closing his eyes.
Nityananda says he teaches to help other relate the physical to the metaphysical world. There is a lot your mind can do for you, he explains.
A person falls ill because he invites illnesses, the yogi elaborated. “Internal Conflict, indecision and other emotional problems will make you prone to sickness.”
Nityananda’s preventive for diseases is to build one’s internal resistance. He himself has never taken in any synthetic medicines in his life. He is probably in his late thirties. He says he is as old as one thinks he is.
