To a teacher, there are always challenges to hurdle in the performance of duties. And if we fail, there will always be room for improvement. Being a good teacher demands a lot of sacrifices. To make things simpler, here are the important D’s that will drive in achieving our goals as educators
DESIRE. Why are we here in this profession? Simply because, we find purpose and passion in what we do. These pushes us to have the desire to work and to perform credibly. We become engaged as we exhibit a strong desire to contribute to our organization.
DISCIPLINE. Looking back and being reminded of the years spent in teaching introduced me to what real discipline is all about. Above all things, the experience taught me that when you able to instill inner discipline, you become prepared to face any challenges in life.
DELIGHT. If you do the things that you desire with discipline, you are delighted to find out that it has become part of you. I cannot imagine a day without teaching because it has become a fulfilling task and I get appreciated for what I am doing.
DEVOTION. The difference between success and being contented is our devotion to the profession. There are days that we feel nothing is going for us, but if we persist more, we would surely reap the fruits of our labors.
If you want to do the improbable in your career as a teacher, devote yourself to the profession and make sure that you have the desire to continue and the discipline to keep you going.
