Etymologically speaking, “education “ comes from the latin words, EDUCATIE – “ a breeching up, a reading “, EDUCO – “ I educate, I train” and DUCO , “I lead, I conduct”.
On my own perception, education is knowledge, attitudes, skills that a person can acquired through a mind-numbing but beneficial learning process. It takes place under the tutelage of others who have expertise in their respective fields, though sometimes it may also be autodidactic. Experiences that have formative effects on the way one thinks feels or acts may be considered educational. It is commonly divided into different significant stages such as pre-school, elementary school, collegiate, graduate and post-graduate.
As stated in Ariticle II section 17 of the Philippine Constitution of 1987, “ The State shall give priority to EDUCATION, science and technology, arts, culture and sports to foster patriotism and nationalism, accelerate social progress and promote total human liberation and development, therefore education is a right and privilege of every Filipino and no ONE should be deprive from it.
