Education is a very essential field that the society needs in order to survive. Through education, development and civilization sprouted. Furthermore, it should embody the characteristics that may assist the individuals to their full development and progress.
So, it is much better if you adopt the characteristics of progressive education for you to yield enhanced education which is best for all.
Initially, give the child the selection of subject contents which he/she needs in the future. Bestowing him/her with relevant matters will be worthy and functional. These subjects will be needed by him/her and by the society.
Secondly, emphasize learning by doing. It is much better if the child is given a chance to actualize things in order to learn in a practical way. Experiential learning is more effective than merely studying theory. It is letting the child perform things in order to learn. It also allowing the child to experience educational matters for him/her acquire the knowledge and skills.
Thirdly, stress problem solving and critical thinking. A child must be exposed to challenging activity like solving a problem whether on the subject or in the real sense. In this way, he will use his/her critical mind on analyzing things or situations.
Fourth, teach him social responsibility and democracy. Let him/her make use of his/her strength and ability in doing more serious roles and duties. Let him/her practice democracy on words and actions as long as he/she uses it responsibly.
Fifth, highlight lifelong learning and social skills. Let the child realize that education must be continuous. Someone must keep on updating and advancing himself/herself in order to achieve social skills which are valuable in facing the real society.
Sixth, include collaborative and cooperative learning. Students must face reality that they should work with people in order to learn and attain progress. In addition, they need to combine their minds and energies in order to achieve better educational outputs.
Seventh, tell them to make use of varied learning resources and materials. Learning can best be achieved if someone is consulting a lot of learning resources and utilizing different learning materials.
Finally, state the integration of practicality of education. Teachers must enlighten the students will the authentic worth and value of what they are doing in order to promote usability and practicality of education as they face the real world in the future.
