Project making is sustained even in this new normal distance learning system. This is because at the restrictions and temporary postponement in the periodical assessment, the ways and measures to evaluate learners’ performance can be reflected in the quality of their practical academic outputs including projects. Thus, project making is also made sustainable despite of the shift in the learning methods and system.

However, in this crucial period of education in the new normal, learners would be facing more challenges and difficulties in project making. The challenges are linked more on the hurdles posed by the lack of face to face instruction and the difficulty in coping with the adjustments of new learning delivery modalities. Definitely, there is a huge, significant difference between the nature of project making among the learners between the period prior to new normal and during the pandemic crisis. Prior to new normal, learners are well-instructed, guided and monitored by the teachers in their project making endeavor. However, in this time of learning amidst pandemic, learners are entrusted to rely more on their self-learning and independent learning abilities in developing their own academic outputs including projects.

Thus, it implies that the crisis itself justifies the issues, problems and difficulties faced by the learners in their project making initiatives in this new normal. Moreover, the learners are facing serious adjustments in the utilization of learning delivery modalities that are mostly attributed with self-learning nature. That is why at the midst of these adjustments, their project making knowledge and abilities would also be somehow faced with certain rigors. This is particularly when it is the very first time that the learners would be accomplishing their projects purely under home-based, distance learning system and most of all without being personally directed and guided by their teachers due to restrictions on face to face instruction in this new normal.
