Amidst the full time teaching profession lies that reasons why teachers still have to feel great on this job.
Even in the past, teachers are considered elite. Teaching is considered as the most important profession because those professionals in the society were being educated by teachers. As the old saying goes, “doctors, engineers, architects and other productive members of the society won’t be here without the teachers.” Obviously, the greatness of teachers is overflowing.
Currently, teaching is still considered as the noblest of all professions. The concrete evidences are prevalent in the world. Teachers are more empowered and have improved their professional as well as their personal aspects. Teachers were given a lot of opportunities to reach greater heights by going to the next levels of education like taking master’s and doctorate degrees. They have chances to more seminars and trainings inside the country and even abroad.
In the school, the teachers are given more freedom to handle a lot of responsibilities. They are not only plain classroom teachers but they are also advisers, organizers, strategic planners, leaders, negotiators, mediators and among others. They are not only confined to the four corners in the classrooms instead their abilities and talents are being utilized for their own growth and productivity.
In the classroom itself, teachers are being much innovative, dynamic, creative and resourceful. Though teachers are more of as facilitators but their ingenuity and craft are being boosted to the fullest level. They have novel ways of managing the class and they are proactive on the stakeholders’ feedbacks and suggestions.
In terms of their teaching prowess, teachers are redefining their styles and pedagogies to suit the needs of the present generation of learners. The passive and conventional ways of teaching are no longer exhibited instead they are stimulated to use the modern means for the sake of the pupils’ learnings.
Undeniably, teachers have levelled up and kept themselves abreast on the demands of time and society. Though teaching is not a lucrative profession, teachers can face the world with pride that they earn only even but what they share to the world is really abundant. The fulfilment that they feel and the contributions that they share are truly enough to say that there is an edge in being a teacher of our society.
The wonderful experience of being a teacher and what they endow to the pupils will solidify their concrete edge.
