There are lots of ways to access the internet. As a result, being active on multiple social media services like twitter, Facebook, instagram, etc. is inevitable. There may be some beneficial or positive effects when students are active on social media, like awareness to subjects that are viral and the propagation of news and critical commentaries of known people specifically politicians and celebrities. It can also be used by students to exchange ideas and thoughts related to education and for teachers as well to deliberate and discuss topics about their profession BUT the problem is that it was not being used that way.
Students are taking most of their time updating status after status and making Facebook as their public diaries. They tweet nonsense thoughts and criticism to something or someone without comprehending and reviewing the information they had. Also, they post pictures only to boast and make others be envious on what they have and where they’ve gone to. These behaviours are not being neutralized and taught on school grounds but is a serious problem to students which can greatly affect their attitudes on learning.

Basing from these hypothesis, it is clear that it can cause significant change on how students deal with their study habit and even for teachers not concentrating on what they have to do because social media services are addictive based on studies as well. Also, the availability of these social media services requires internet and a medium to view the contents of what we want to see such as cell phones, laptops, personal computers, etc. and too much exposure to monitor screen and cellular phone’s radiation can damage the sense of sight and other multiple complications in the body.

There are still a lot to discuss about the disadvantages of being too active on social media services and these can greatly affect the education of students and the concentration and health of teachers and other school personnel in which they have higher risk on having a disease on their sense of sight.
