Teaching is also susceptible to sins. There are unlimited sins in teaching but I rather mention only seven which maybe the most frequently committed by the teachers.
- 1. Cruelty
Corporal punishment is the most common form of cruelty. But there is other form of cruelties which is lowering the pupil’s rating just because he failed to satisfy the teacher’s personal demand both bad and adjust. Another form of cruelty is lowering child esteem by calling him names in front of his classmates for failure to give the right answer to a question.
- 2. Bad Manners
Even teachers are expected to be a role model, there are who really possess bad attitudes. Most often teachers make mention of the physical defects of a child when calling him causing the poor pupil to be embarrassed.
- 3. Cheating
Teachers should accept the fact that they never use their time religiously but not to all. There are some who always consume much of their time nagging at their pupils rather than to teach them. Remember that it should be time on task. As much as possible let the pupils learn in extent to our time allotted for them.
- 4. Dishonesty
Accept or not but it is true that some teachers instead of teaching pupils how to be honest, they are the one who broke this especially during special tests given to their pupils. Teachers become dishonest because of the fact that they want their class to be on top during tests given by the department.
- 5. Stupidity
This is often reflects in a pupil’s words and actions. Teachers should be aware of what they are going to say or do. Pupils are good imitator of what they have seen especially to their teacher. Teachers should be cautious in speaking English for their imitated by the children. There are some teachers who are really stupid in terms of keeping asking their pupils to do that but he never try to do that by himself. How stupid it is? There are some who demanding contribution from the pupils for a fund drive when the teacher does not contribute.
These are some of the shortcomings of teachers. If you think that you are guilty of these sins better drop the practice. Teachers must be aware on their acts because you are supposed to be a good example to others.
