Every now and then we’ve been hearing so many negative things about our new education system called Kto12. There are comments that Kto12 is so expensive and not helpful especially for poor or average Filipino. There’s also many news in the television showing different situation of public schools that currently offering and accommodating Kto12 students that definitely tailoredin the‘not-so-good’ state when you rate there condition. There are scarcity of classrooms, chairs, and mostly, teachers. In addition, there are schools that limit the number of Senior High school students that they will accommodate. Truly, there are so many negative words that we can connect with Kto12 but for me, as a teacher, we just have to look in the good that Kto12 can give.

In my own perspective, Kto12 is a friend to everyone. If people see Kto12 as a hindrance, I see it as ablessing because if you finished the senior high, you can surely apply for a work. Compareto  a 4 years or 5 years College courses,  2 years of Senior High Schooling, is amazing that you can easily get a job.  College is just optional, tuition wise,  after Senior High Schooling, a studentfrom a poor family who doesn’t have money to pursue  College courses has no problem anymore.Because if they finishedSenior High School they will received National Certification of acquired skills that will enable them to land on a job. In classroom matters, I believe that if students really want to learn and teachers are ready to sacrifice, there are ways. For example, we can divide big classrooms or even have a class in library and other school facilities that students can still have a good quality education that they deserve.

Even if there are so many bad comments about Kto12 maybe we just have to learn to look beyond it. Maybe we just have to try to understand it and give it a chance, be optimistic because at the end of the day, still, Kto12 brought our children lessons that they have to know and learn. Let’s try to be a good friend that even if we already know the flaws of our friend, we still see him as a good one.
