An architect or an engineer has blue print to build houses, bridges, and buildings. A teacher is like an architect or an engineer. He, too, has a blue print. But he does not build houses, buildings and bridges. What he builds is a man, a kind of man a teacher would like his pupil to be. His blue print is the daily lesson plans. He organizes and prepares the day`s activities for his pupils. He studies everything he has to teach.

Lesson planning is important. Teacher faces his pupils with confidence. He shows mastery of his lessons gaining the respect of his pupils.

A well- prepared teacher manages his time intelligently. He knows how to start his lesson, where to lead his pupils, and what his pupils achieved after the lesson.

A lesson plan serves as a guide not only for the old teachers but also for the new and inexperienced teachers. Lesson plan makes the teacher effective and efficient.

Lesson plan helps teachers plan activities and experiences to be taken in the teaching- learning situations anticipating difficulties and problems to be met.
