Entering into the realm of education needs passion, as it requires a lot of patience (Debora, 2009). According to Moskowitz& Hayman (1976), once a teacher loses control of their classroom, it becomes increasingly more difficult for them to regain that control. Consequently, he finds it hard to correct the pupil’s misbehavior. Sad to say, this results to low level of academic performance of the pupils.
This problems calls for the great ability of the teachers to execute effective classroom management. Classroom management is a term used by teachers to describe the process of ensuring that classroom lessons run smoothly despite the disruptive behavior of the students. It is the process in which the teacher prevents the occurrence of misbehavior or at least minimize them to achieve the desired learning outcome.
In putting up an effective classroom management, the teacher needs to consider lots of things. He should take into consideration the issues of motivation, discipline and respect. The diagnoses of pupils’ needs, behaviors, strengths and weaknesses should also be remembered. Its effectiveness lies in clear communication of behavioral and academic expectations to create a cooperative learning environment.
The teacher’s role like managing the classroom effectively is very important and it is not easy. It pays great sacrifice because doing it well is necessary to realize the end of educative process. He must make it sure that everything is going right so at the end, he will realize and reap a good harvest which is maximum learning among the pupils.
