“Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord because you know that your labor in the Lord is not vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:58)

Teaching is the noblest profession. Teachers invest not only their time and efforts to their profession but also their hearts and souls. Teachers are the richest source of skills that build up the nation’s strength. Being a teacher is not an easy task. The responsibilities of teachers do not end inside the room or at 5 o’ clock in the afternoon. They are like pupils’ guardian angels sent from heaven to guide them to become productive citizens in the future. Teachers also act as surrogate parents to their pupils and mold their personalities for them to achieve their goals in lives. They also prioritize official matters over their personal needs. Sometimes their quality time with their families is at stake because of their profession. How do they manage this kind of setup? It is simply because they are in love with their profession. As for them, service to others means service to God. They may not own a latest car model or own a furnished house because they are only receiving a minimal salary, it doesn’t matter to them. The prize of being a teacher is not about receiving a noble pay but working hard in a noble way no matter how hard the task before them because the reward that they will get is not from here but from the hereafter.

So fellow teachers, just keep the fires of your desire to help others burning. God is looking at you with a smile and he will repay you for a job well done. Mabuhay kayo!
