“It’s your personality that draws students in, makes you worth listening to, and gives them a compelling reason to want to behave”, stated by Michael Linsin on his article about Classroom Management issued April 21, 2012.

Indeed, it is a fact that the teacher overall personality makes the students’ attention hook. The uniqueness and the charm of the teacher drive to establish rapport among the students. This will make the classroom easier to manage.

                Moreover, teachers’ personalities affect learning. How the teacher carries herself and the way she stands in front of the class contribute to manage the classroom effectively and eventually achieve students’ learning.

                If the teacher has a boring personality and has a low self-esteem, no matter how she is dedicated to the job, she will be experiencing difficulty in handling misbehaved students.

                There are educators that are still stepping beyond their comfort zone, allowing themselves to become easily irritated is always at the scene. In not doing so, here are some tips that teachers can do for successful handling of the class.

                First and foremost, be the real person as you are. Speak from the heart. Let the students see the real emotion within you. Throw off social inhibitions of your age, peers and professional acquaintances. Do not pretend that you are somebody else but in fact you are not. You can be real without being judged.

                Next, learn to relax. Share laughter with the students. Tell some stories and don’t be afraid of showing the innate passion you have for teaching. Focus also to the goal that teachers inspire lives and cherish the moment you have with them. In this way you build rapport naturally with them.

                Be confident. Students’ trust will gain if you confidently stand tall in front of them. They will look up on you.

                Interact and join students in a game or activity. This will make them feel about you differently. This will also close the distance between you and your students. They will make you love and cherish.       

                Lastly, physical appearance makes a good impact on students. Physical appearance signifies as one of the most important factors of personality. This is what your students look at you and what they think about you

                Showing good personality is a natural way to build influence and control with the students. Let your personality shines in every corner of the room.
