In this cavernous world of ours,

Where ignorance scourges hours

People indulge in hunches of the morose moors

Holding picket axes to open lock-shut doors.

A light-bearer comes with staff and rod,

But doesn’t seem so much as a god,

Came in with pure intent

But has to nothing to be content.

She teaches the light not for its bright sprite

But because the world is in midnight,

A dry and dreary world devoid of its might

Hoping and heaving amidst its utter plight.

She brings light and puts it upright,

One place at a time, what a delight!

To see a bright streetlight amidst the night

At its greatest height filled with devilish freight.

The Light-bearer brings Hope against Despair,

Wisdom inside Ignorance’s lair,

Mastery with all its flair,

Love can also be felt in the air.
