In the education parlance, greater responsibility comes with promotion. And with every promotion, there is power waiting to be yielded. As has been said, “With greater powers come greater responsibilities.”
Education supervisors exhibit power and responsibilities relative to the position. An effective supervisor then must possess the qualities of a good leader. However, there is more to power that a supervisor needs to have. A supervisor should have the ability to SHOW to the subordinates must be done.
But what is there to show?
A supervisor must SPECIFY the goal of the organization and what the desired performance should be.
Likewise, supervisor must HAVE DEFINITE GUIDELINES and detailed directions on the expected behavior of those under the helm.
Supervisor must also ORGANIZE a work plan to guide the people on show how the task is to be accomplished
The supervisor must also WORK OUT a definite time frame for the full accomplishment of the goal.
Lastly, a supervisor must SUPERVISE and overseen the tasks. There must be a hands on policy in every undertaking.
