While some are questioning the job of the teachers even though they do not know what is really going on the four corners of the classroom, teachers are still making all of their power to put into passion. Teaching is the noblest profession in the world. Teachers commit their lives to teach students and young minds to becomeresponsible citizens of our country. Teaching is not an easy task, but it looks so light because of teacher who will do everything for the learners.
According to Mark Van, “The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery”. The teacher is an artist who acts to deliver the necessary piece. The teacher is an artist who moves to the tune of different dances to make learners learn. The teacher is an artist who sings even if the voice is not as lovely as the other to catch the attention of the students. The teacher is the master of the classroom where he does not want his students to get hurt. The teacher assists learners in learning the concept of every lesson. She does not want the students to receive misleading information, but instead he wants to help learners to store authentic knowledgein their memories and skills which are very useful in daily life activities.
To make students learn is to give the time of a teacher. That is the basic of education. The teacher will have to include her patience and dedication. Each day she comes to school, she doesn’t mind if she arrives at home late. She makes sure that all of her children can write, read, and understand what they have written on their notebooks. The teacher makes an adjustment whenever she noticed that one of her students couldn’t cope up with the lesson. The teacher needs to show flexibility by knowing the learning styles of the learners. At this point, teacher will find an easy time to vary her teaching strategies. She has to use strategy suited for diverse learners to make teaching and learning effective.
To make students attend their classes and continue studying, sometimes teacher has to visit the learners on their home and teacher even gives support to the learners. On the documentary aired on GMA News TV’s Reel Time, Buho episode, the teacher went to the home of her student even if the place is far from the Poblacion. She discovered that the children is working by getting buho on the mountains to process and become sticks and no longer attending school. The child is a hearing impaired student. When the child saw his teacher, he couldn’t control himself but embraced her teacher and cried. He said he missed his teacher. The boy is not attending his classes anymore because there is no SPED school in the place where the child is residing that is why the teacher helped the parents by sending him in a nearby elementary school in their place. In this documentary, the teacher showed concern on her student. On the same way, the leaner showed appreciation on what the teacher did to him.
Teacher is the busiest among professionals. Aside from teaching, teacher is also present in different school activities like the celebration of ArawngKalayaan, Nutrition Month, BuwanngWika, Sports Fest, Celebration of the United Nation, Christmas Party and Recognition and Graduations Rites. They prepare every single angle in such activities that sometimes they have to go home at night and after the event they are the ones who need to keep the venue clean and organize.
In some instances, teacher is not only teaching on the school. They are also participating in barangay activities like Clean and Green Project and Feeding Project. Teachers are the example of learning. They are one of the laboratories of learning. They make learning inspiring in spite of adversities in life.
The work of a teacher might not be recognized by many, but the learners will speak.
