According to the Webster’s Dictionary ,Communication is the process by which thoughts are transferred through spoken words from one person to another. It can also be in printed or broadcast form. This is one skill that an employee must possess in dealing with his/her clients.

Clients generally want to transact business with an employee who is responsible, approachable, easy to deal with, with a ready smile and most of all, easy to understand because he/she possesses good communication skills.

A good employee uses most of her office time wisely instead of wasting his time,

engaging into idle talks. He seizes all the opportunity to start the day into action. As a    DepEd employee my clients are usually teachers coming from different districts. I tried my best to find ways to learn things I still do not know. I need this to be more knowledgeable, which is a great help for me to bid on the top. I need to be always aware that if there is a task to be done, I will do it immediately.  As Sandra Swinney puts it on

accomplishment,“ it is amazing how much people can get done if they do not worry about who gets the credit.”

Idle talks with co-workers or others are never a part  of effective communication.  They hinder progress in the office,  Talkers slow down the tempo of work, not as excellently as it could be.  Mind these wise words from the writer Victor Hug, ”Our acts make or mar us—we are the children of our deeds.”

A real, good worker must avoid boasting, since it never amounts to anything. There is no need to tell that you are the best suited man for this kind of job.  But,instead show it through performance, not through empty, vain talks.  We can always put into our minds the words of Benjamin Franklin,Well done is better than wellsaid.”

Don’t let the sun set without accomplishing something.  This is a loud call for other employees to emulate.  Be a man of action not a man of empty talks.  Combine your talents and actions, and creativity will be evident.  Forget the “Bahalana” or Manana Habit. Don’t procrastinate. There is no appropriate time but now.

The next time you are assigned to do a task, do it to the best of your ability, since experts say that when you perform a task, give your best, no matter how small that task is.  When evaluation time comes you will not be found wondering.
