We go to College to have a job that pays well once we graduate. And while studying we dream of a greener pasture working abroad.

But what really happens is that, after we graduate we have many competition. We are competing for a job that has a few vacancy but tons of candidate competing for the position.

Say for example Nursing is the most in demand course way back 2006 up to year 2010. But because of the too much production of nursing graduates we have an over flowing number of nurses. But few job vacancies for them. Some became volunteer in the hospitals without pay or even allowance just to get experience and have the certificate to eventually apply abroad.

There are also some who apply as Bank teller, Medrep, Fire fighter, Police, even as Teacher. But you have to get certain units to become a teacher from being a nurse in short you have to study first just like what I did.

There are other courses which are also having a mismatch of what they have study for College. As of the recent news today from jobstreet.com, it is said that the Philippine Schools that produced the best fresh grad hires are from PUP which stands as the number one, ADMU (Ateneo de Manila University) has the second spot. UST (University of Santo Tomas) being the fourth and DLSU (De La Salle University) at the fifth place.

The employer choose this Schools because they believe they produce students that has good character and are hardworking ones. The Website also revealed that during the interviews what they are looking for is not how high the grades of the applicant are. But how he/she present her self during the interview their core values is really important. Because what will you do with the employee who thinks he is the smartest of them all even smarter than his Boss. Or the one who don’t know how to listen and to accept criticism with humility.

What they are after is a trustworthy, hardworking, punctual and humble employee. Because I believe that a knowledgeable person is the one who welcome change and accept the ideas of others. Respectful to every individual in his work place and willing to learn what he already knows whole heartedly.
