Education dates back even before its concepts and principles were realized. Long ago, even before Socrates thought by asking questions, the primitive man learned how to use tools crafted from stone and to cook food using fire. Years later, the frist farmers learrned how to plant crops and to domesticate wild animals. As the curiousity of the human mind broadened, our early ancestors took courage and leapt towards the high seas, in search of mesmerically new frontiers, new eye-catching discoveries, and new knowledge. Now, millions of years later, the ever-curious mind of the modern man still wanders, still searching for knowledge to acquire.
Nowadays, education is one of the fumdamental building blocks for the success of our economy and our society. The thirst for knowledge led us to get away from illiteracy and into where we are now. Surrounding us now are fruits of the labor of the ever-growing population of educated and literate humans benefiting from the flourishing fountain of education.
Without education, the complex structures of the pyramids of Egypt nor the mysterious arrays of the universe will not be open for study and understanding for the common folk. With the lack of education, neither communication nor transportation will be able to delegate diplomacy and to connect the diverse and multilingual cultures of each unique country. Without education, no Isaac Newton will ever come up with the Laws of Motion, no Adam Smith will ever introduce the principles of the economy, no William Shakespeare will ever express a tragic masterpiece, and no Rene Descartes will ever formulate a widely-accepted mathematical concept.
Truly, we are now indebted to a magnanimous fellow whose concepts, priciples, examples, and lessons helped the species of the apex human race. As the saying goes “ Education is learning how to learn, not how to earn “. We could only justify that education , with a quarter pound each of determination, perseverance, and inspiration, anyone and everyone could succeed in life.
