Twenty years ago, I was afraid and uncertain whether to pursue teaching as my lifetime career or do work in an office as clerk. Many discouraged me, some encouraged me. One…..,two….. three years passed, tiring yet rewarding. I embraced the world of the noblest people…. The teachers!

Thinking of our profession, it is compared to an actor who plays many roles in stage. Roles that people around us expect us to perform all these at the same time.

At home, we are mothers, we are directors. We do everything for the sake of our family. We plan everything that we don’t miss even a single thing. We manage the house 24 hours a day.

In school, we are counselors. We are teachers to our learners. Everyone wants to catch our attention. We give solutions to many problems as far as our pupils are concerned. We are friends to our co-teachers. We are advisers.

In the community, we are consultants. We are participants to many barangay projects and programs. People look up to us with high regards.

Despite the many roles we play everyday, we manage to cope and survive. Our world is not that the happiest but I can say….. one of the most wonderful indeed!
