Teaching is both a mission and a sacrifice. It is a mission because it is our responsibility to see to it that all our pupils that pass through our hands must obtain learning in its fullest. On the other hand, it is also a sacrifice because you must be ready to give up whatever is called for by your profession.
The following are some proofs how a teacher becomes more than just a teacher.
A counselor and psychologist to a problem filled child. A police officer that controls a child gone wild. A travel agent scheduling field trips. A confidante that wipes a crying child’s tear. A banker collecting money for a ton of different things. A librarian showing adventures that a storybook brings. A custodian that has to clean certain little messes. A psychic that learns to know all that everybody only guesses. A photographer keeping pictures of a child’s yearly growth. A mother and father when gone for the day, a teacher becomes both. A doctor that detects when a child is feeling sick. A politician that must know the laws ang recognize a trick. A party planner for holidays to celebrate with. A decorator of a room, filling every wall. A news reporter updating on our nation’s current events. A detective solving small mysteries and ending all suspense. A clown and comedian that makes children laugh. A dietician assuring they have lunch or from mine I give them half. And most of all, A preacher who teaches values.
But be proud we are teachers because children depend on us…
