Ineffective time distribution, according to Jabeen et al. (2021), increases employee stress and reduces performance on numerous levels. Time management is a set of behaviors that allows people to use as much time as possible to finish important activities. It’s a combination of appreciating the worth of time, setting objectives, prioritizing work, and evaluating the results. Time management, according to Haider (2019), may help individuals improve their performance, learn more effectively, and achieve professional success. Time is seen as an endlessly divisible and usable commodity in modern civilization. It contributes in the establishment’s creation of a sensation of time passing. The material and human resources of a school may expand and alter through time, but the passage of time is an asset that cannot be purchased or preserved. The key to achieving life success is to effectively manage this resource, which everyone possesses in equal proportions, and to devote sufficient time and attention to planning. Though effective and efficient time management varies based on the kind of job performed, the increasing level of knowledge and skills needed of modern workers has increased the necessity for time management. Working successfully and efficiently, which can only be achieved via time management, is the only way to excel in life.

People are taught to plan and manage their time properly as early as elementary school in today’s competitive environment. In competitive conditions, organizations and leaders are obliged to spend time effectively, necessitating the search for time management (Alay & Koçak, 2018). Major et al. (2019) emphasized the necessity of time management in theoretical models and research approaches in order to effectively include time. To build a supportive working environment, teachers may better manage their time and effort. Time management also refers to making the most of one’s time in order to optimize productivity and achieve objectives. It is concerned with controlling work schedules in order to accomplish the organization’s goals and objectives by previous planning, organizing, and executing. Understanding the process of time management and one’s role in personal and professional success is possibly the most valuable asset available to people and organizations. It may be squandered if it isn’t treated as a valuable asset. The purpose of project management is to finish a project in an effective and timely way while maintaining quality and reducing waste. In every organization, it is human nature to squander time on personal interests and comfort in order to avoid work and tasks. Some individuals, on the other hand, are able to manage their time and establish successful routines. Others, likewise, have developed problematic time management practices that aren’t widely recognized as problems.

In this connection, DepEd Order No. 16, s. 2009, or the guidelines for implementing Civil Service Commission Resolution No. 080096 on working hours for public school teachers, establishes the workload of public school teachers. According to the D.O. 16, a teacher’s whole teaching load must be fulfilled by six (6) hours of actual classroom instruction as stipulated in the class schedule. According to DepEd Memorandum No. 291, s. 2008, teaching loads for the entire school year, including advisory classes and special assignments, must be included as one teaching load. It states that teachers who have worked the required daily hours and have sufficiently recorded their six (6) hours of fundamental classroom instruction on their daily time cards are not considered to have worked under time in the attendance report and are not subject to payment reduction. Additionally, the principal must agree with teachers, parents, and students, ideally via the School Governing Council, about the two (2) additional hours of work performed by teachers outside the school premises. In this premise, the teachers would have better time management in conjunction with their workloads.

At the end of the day, nothing could equates the dedication and commitments of teachers over any challenges and changes this new normal of education has to offer.
