Teachers are the parents of the children in schools. It is their duty to find ways and means in maintaining good discipline to help the children grow and develop into better individuals.

The following ways may help the teachers in maintaining good discipline.

  1. Be a model of good behavior in action and in words.
  2. Make firm suggestions and decisions.
  3. Impose rules and regulations of the school.
  4. Respect the children by letting them give suggestions.
  5. Show friendliness, patience and sympathy.
  6. Let the misbehaving pupils relate a story and let them feel that you have the        trust and confidence in them.
  7. Encourage children to join co- curricular activities.
  8. Teach the value of responsibility.
  9. Treat the children fairly.
  10. Provide experiences that develop love and respect.
