Once of the toughest challenges that teachers face in school is behavior management. It is not easy to manage the class. Teachers are evaluated on behavior management strategies as well as teaching skills. If the teacher cannot manage behavior problems, definitely, it will rise up. The following are highly suggested strategies that will set the foundation for positive behavior:

  1. 1.Show examples of appropriate behavior.. The best way to amange problem behavior is to highlight the examples of appropriate behavior. The teacher may use point system for positive behavior in the class.
  2. 2.Redirect the Misbehavior. Never embarrass the pupil. Acknowledge the appropriate behavior with verbal praise but do not give the misbahaving pupil an audience. It would be better to have a private discussion with the pupil.
  3. 3.Explain rules. Explain rules and expectations Clearly in the school year throughout the class. The rules should be applied to everyone. Usually, the behavior problems tend to escalate when students feel they are not being treated fairly. Do not create rules you are unable to enforce.
  4. 4.Lastly, assign seats. Make sure that your pupils are sitting in the correct seat you assigned during the first weeks of school. Assign new seats to students who misbehave. Move those who do not pay attention. This way, behavior problemsbe prevented.

Indeed, school behavior problems can be prevented. It is just about a matter of classroom management skills wherein the teacher consistently manages to handle the class very well. For real, it is the teacher who sets the atmosphere in the classroom.
