A school administrator is faced with many aspects to be looked into in running a public school. In order to become an effective school administrator, here are some tips which are divided into different perspectives.

The first tip is the pupil/student development.  An effective school administrator must have daily close supervision of teachers that will lead to the attainment of a high achievement level in academic instructions.  There should be remedial instructions in every school which should be done outside of the time for academic subjects.  Instructional materials are present in the different subject areas.

Staff development is another perspective in running a school.  The conduct of school level in – service training is indispensable. Teachers must understand the different programs, innovations, projects and requirements in the Department of Education.  Teachers should be aware of all memoranda, circulars, orders and letters from the higher educational authorities. Teachers should be punctual in coming to school and in all other activities. School administrators should see to it that there is no communication gap between him and his teachers.  It should be established that teachers and stakeholders are people in the DepEd joining hands in the proper development of Filipino children.

Another viewpoint on how to become an effective school administrator is the curriculum development.  All skills in the learning competencies are represented by instructional materials. Test questions in the different evaluations should be framed correctly in accordance with Table of Specifications.

Physical facilities development is also an area to be improved.  The cleanliness of school grounds should be maintained.   The administration should have complete data of the school.  Raising funds are needed by the school for worthwhile projects. Solicitations of other needs from private sectors are also necessary.
