Instructional leaders focus on helping teachers to improve their classroom performance and make academic instruction their school’s top priority. The following of as effective instructional leaders as follows:

  1. 1.Spending a lot of time in classroomteaching and encouraging high performance.
  2. 2.Tracking student test score results and other indicators of student learning to help teachers, focus attention where it most needed.
  3. 3.Focusing much time on faculty development.
  4. 4.Challenging the faculty to examine traditional assumption about teaching.
  5. 5.Providing opportunities for teachers to share information and work together to plan curriculum and instruction.

In the light of the foregoing salient points to be used by those who would like to pursue instructional leadership in their respective schools:

  1. 1.Visit each classroom and your school everyday.
  2. 2.Involves the faculty in delivering school goals, beliefs and vision at the beginning of the school year.
  3. 3.Give everyone responsibilities and involve teachers in governance functions.
  4. 4.Write private notes to teachers expressing appreciation or special effort.
  5. 5.Survey the teachers often about their wants and needs.
  6. 6.Involve all sectors of the school or community extension services.
  7. 7.Procure technology, based instructional materials, equipment and devices to supplement the traditional classroom instructional.
