Being in the field of education  is a serious profession and we face different challenges as we go on with our lives as teachers. There are times we feel to give up especially the demands of our work. Unfortunately most of us can’t  quit from this profession for financial reason -it is our bread and butter ,aside from teachers are meant to be in the service of education. So there are some inevitable situations where teachers face the harsh realities of life  particularly in disciplining the pupils. We heard from news or even some of us experience  being reported for maltreating or abusing our pupils and the sad part is when the teachers are being charged with Child Abuse.

Teachers are not saints we are also human beings who commit mistakes and there are cases we   fail to do what the society is expected us to perform. One of the main reason why teachers   get tired, depress or even ill is because of Stress. A  five letter word which can great affect the life of an educators.

So here are some tips to avoid such stress from work :

  1. Know your daily and immediate priorities – Have a schedule of your daily activities and set your priorities at the same time.
  2. Learn to say no- Once you have your list of priorities categorize them from the most to the least  important.  Say no to those which  are not  your priorities.
  3. Identify the main source of stress-   Determine the  main cause of stress then try to avoid those which cause the stress.
  4. Find time to relax –  Have time to do activity that relaxes like hobby like reading, listening to music or any activity which can help you to relax mind.
  5. Take a break from your usual routine – Find time to enjoy the moment think of happy thoughts once you feel bored.
