As they say, teaching is the noblest profession. Here are some of the reasons why it became noblest: They work on weekends and holidays, their students became their sons and daughters in an instant, they can eat lunch in just a minute and most especially, they are not just teachers but also a doctor, nurse, lawyer, counselor and other professions just for their students.
Besides those, they are also a multi-tasker:
- Making lesson plans
In making lesson plans, a teacher must creatively think for the activities that will surely parallel to the objectives. Then he/ she must master the arts of questioning, make it HOTS as much as possible. There are also many types of assessment that can be use, this part is very crucial because this will tell if the teacher really attained the objectives.
- Managing the Physical, Social and Psychological Classroom Climate
Classroom management is very essential, you can tell that the teacher is effective if he/she can manage the students well in different aspects such as the physical, social and psychological climate. Managing classroom climate is very crucial as they need to keep a peaceful and conducive classroom so that knowledge/ learning will take place.
- Handling Student’s Diversities and Behavior
Students are different from each other, having different status, different color, different skills, different problems and also different behaviors. But most especially no matter how different they are from each other, a teacher must treat them equally, without looking how beautiful they are, how intelligent they are or even how rich they are. Students nowadays maybe different from the past generation, their behavior was wild and very carefree. As a teacher you should know how to hold them according to their behavior.
- Preparing Instructional Materials
As they say, teacher is the best instructional material but aside from that saying, instructional material is one of a factor to get the attention of the students. In making my instructional materials, it must be clear, readable and presentable. It is not about how expensive or how simple it is, but the big deal is, the materials must be appropriate for the lesson.
