The delivery of instructions has tremendously changed as time passed by where innovation, technology, content, and pedagogy have evolved. Especially in teaching English, where complex concepts are reinforced by interactive multimedia materials, the use of technology in education has completely changed how teachers deliver the curriculum and engage students. English teachers need to be well-versed in their subjects and adept at integrating technology into their teaching strategies in this increasingly digital environment. In order to do this, a deep understanding of technical, pedagogical, and content knowledge is required (TPACK). In order to provide practical learning experiences, this concept highlights the interdependence of educational approaches, technical tools, and subject knowledge. TPACK ensures that English teachers can use technology in the classroom to enhance students’ understanding of ideas, encourage inquiry-based learning, and foster critical thinking. However, earlier research has shown that many teachers, especially in developing nations, require assistance in successfully integrating technology into their curricula. These challenges stem from a lack of thorough training, insufficient access to technology, and a need for an understanding of how to integrate technology with subject matter and instructional strategies.
In addition to TPACK, creative thinking is critical in today’s classrooms. Educational innovation is the ability to think creatively about problems, adapt teaching methods to new challenges, and develop unique tactics to engage students in the learning process. Practical innovation skills are crucial for English teacher because they allow students to make the connection between ideas and real-world applications, which fosters a more profound comprehension and appreciation of the subject. Strong creative teachers are better at developing lesson plans that pique students’ interests, encourage critical thinking, and meet their diverse range of learning needs. While TPACK and inventive abilities are widely acknowledged as necessary, there is growing concern that many English teachers may need to receive more training in these areas. This gap limits their ability to fully make use of the potential of technology and innovative methods to improve student outcomes. Innovative teachers are better at introducing state-of-the-art equipment, methodologies, and approaches into their lessons, according to studies. Innovation in education is the ability to adapt teaching strategies in response to new discoveries, cutting-edge technological advancements, and changing student needs. Innovative teaching methods, such as project-based learning, flipped classrooms, and special education classes, are always sought after by creative educators who want to make lessons more approachable and engaging for their students. Given these challenges, it is essential to focus on programs that explicitly enhances the TPACK and innovation skills of English teachers towards making education resilient through times.
