Teachers are more likely to work unpaid overtime than staff in any other industry, with some working almost thirteen extra hours per week, according to research. (www.tes.co.uk./news/)

Complimented as the noblest profession, teachers are strictly observed how flawlessly they do their job to uplift the quality of education in the country. Eyes are everywhere watching them in every decision or action they make. A wrong move means a lifetime scar in their name and dignity.

Haven’t they seen how much oblation teachers give in their profession? Teachers do give lots of sacrifices.me One great example is the extra hours they expend without pay. They offer lots of time to perform their job well. There are times that they spend sleepless nights to keep themselves ready for another day’s venture of teaching. Moreover, teachers even use their weekends which are their only time for the family in doing paper works and again to prepare for next week’s lesson.

Teachers doing these extra works are actually not paid for the extra time that they dedicate in order to give justice to their job. Unfortunately, this sacrifice was not seemingly given a significant recognition or simple appreciation. What people see are the mistakes which teachers unintentionally commit because of unavoidable circumstances brought by stressful work.

Unpaid overtime is one of teacher’s great sacrifices in the practice of their noble profession. They do not demand the government to pay them in the additional time that they consume in doing their job. What teachers only ask for is a little consideration in their part. They must be given value or at least appreciate their incomparable dedication.
